The Algarve Region has become a major tourist destination for motorhome travelers in Portugal. It is also one of the most visited regions in the European and Mediterranean setting, particularly during the winter and spring months. The Algarve Region is sought throughout the year by a diverse and active motorhome community, increasingly demanding and seeking for high standards of quality. Motorhome travelers can find many reasons and several areas of tourist interest across the whole region; its pleasant climate and milder winters, warm and welcoming people, beautiful landscapes with a high environmental quality, a rich cultural heritage and the traditional flavoursof the Algarve gastronomy, as well as many tourist services the region has to offer. For all of this motorhome visitors, unlike any other region or tourism niche, became remarkably loyal to the Algarve Region.
Over the last years Motorhome travelling has become a privileged way to visit, to get to know and enjoy the Algarve Region any time of the year. Moreover long stay vacations allow motorhome users, like no other way, to admire and fully enjoy the whole region in all its plenitude and diversity. You may take part in local daily life and meet the local communities. By the region´s quality and by motorhome unique characteristics it is indeed a privilege to be a motorhome user in the Algarve.
Motorhome touring has grown significantly over the past years throughout the Algarve Region. To deal with this increasing demand, to endow the region with a qualified tourism offer and also discuss matters regarding the Algarve`s landscape protection and safeguard, namely its susceptibility and vulnerability, in 2015 the regional entities have initiated a process in order to establish a high quality standard motorhome support network across the Region.
